How much one minute phone-conversation costs in Iran?

Telecommunication tariffs in Iran is increased by 50%, finally confirms Mahmoud Vaezi, Minister of ICT of Iran.

The previous tariff for one-minute conversation on the fixed line was 30 IRR (0.0009 USD); in another word, 1000 minutes of conversation would cost 0.9 USD.

New prices will be 45 IRR for each minute.

The price for buying and installation of a new fixed phone line, however, have been five times folded, reaching 2.5 million IRR (72 USD), from previously 14.4 USD.

The only fixed line operator in Iran is Telecommunication Company of Iran (TCI) and has 30 million subscribers.

Although the new tariffs are still not announced on the website of TCI, its CEO says that people will know about the new prices when they will receive their next bills.

TCI is registered on Tehran Stock Exchange and its stand-alone turnover over the Iranian year 1394, 21 March 2015 to 20 March 2016, has been $690 million.

As a holding company, TCI was the fifth largest company in Iran in 1393 with a total turnover of $3.4 billion. For decades its mobile operator, Hamrah-e Aval, was also the unique operator in Iran, controlling the market.

Today there are three mobile operators in Iran; where 61% of sim-card market is owned by Hamrah-e Aval. The other two other operators, Irancell and Rightel are known as the second and the third mobile operators in the country.
