Digital Wallet for Foreign Tourists Visiting I

Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Iran is launching a new program for foreign tourists visiting Iran to ease the exchanging money for them. According to this plan, foreign tourists can receive an electronic payment card upon their arrival and charge it with the money they have with themselves.

The exchange rate for this process will be the rate on their arrival date. If some money would be left in the card when the tourist wants to leave the country, the same rate as their arrival would be applied to pay them back in their desired foreign currency.

The process will be done through the travel agencies with which tourists have planned their visit to Iran and its goal is to reduce the complications of facing several different exchange rates at the market and during their trip. It also has the advantage for them not to carry cash for the time they travel, claims the Ministry of Tourism.
