Maersk leaves Iran

Although the European Union has announced plans to stay in the JCPOA, Maersk Shipping has announced plans to leave Iran. Mohammadhasan Dajmar, the previous CEO of the National Shipping Company has told Shargh: “Large companies such as Maersk are afraid of sanctions since they have a large market in the US. However, there are other shipping companies which we can work with. Furthermore, the IRI Shipping Line and the National Iran tanker Company have very high capacities which can satisfy the needs of the country. Alongside these, numerous small shipping companies which do not deal with the US are active in Iran and have no plans of leaving”
