Increase in local Caviar consumption

Ghanoon writes of the need to increase the shares of the fishing industry in the economy. The fishing industry was nationalized in 1953 by Dr. Mossadegh. In the past five years shrimp farming has increased threefold and has reached 32 thousand tons. This year, Iran has earned 475 million dollars from the export of shrimp and fish. From the 5 tons of caviar produced, 1.2 tons have been exported. Ghanon writes that due to the high domestic demand, the price of each kilogram of caviar can reach up to 100 million IRR while the export price is around 60 million IRR and therefore, the domestic market is more attractive for producers.
