On Tuesday, in a sudden letter, President Rohani removed the Minister of Industry and Trade of Iran, Mr Reza Rahmani.
Mr Rahmani is the first Minister to be fired since the beginning of the presidency of Dr Rohani. It has not been clear why he has been removed, but some guess that he was not supportive enough to the government’s plan to split the Ministry of Industry and Trade into two separate ministries, i.e. Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Trade.
Since Mr Rahmani came to office as the Minister of Industry and Trade, troubles in Iran economy escalated considerably and several analysts believe that this was not only due to the US sanctions, but the lack of strategic planning was also a crucial factor.
