Tehran Central Fruit Market has no cool-storage!

Central Fruit Market

The Head of Fruit Seller Association of Iran, Mostafa Daraii-Nejad, says that although the daily supply of fruits to the Central Fruit Market of Tehran is very considerable, still proper facilities to keep these fruits for a longer time, is missing.

According to Mr Daraii-Nejad, in normal periods, 20 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables enter the Central Fruit Market of Tehran. This figure around the new year period reaches 40 thousand tons per day. However, in this Market there is not even one industrial cool store to keep the fruits and vegetables.

Therefore, Mr Daraii-Nejad complains that in such situations, it is impossible to control the prices in the market for when the demand increases, particularly getting closer to the end of the year.
