Mining Companies Share in Stock Market

Mining and Mining Industries make 15% of Tehran Stock Exchange. There are five-thousands mines in Iran which has made 620-thousand jobs.

Total mining foreign trade over the same period has been USD 11.5 billion, where USD 7 billion is the export value, making 21% of total Iran’s export.

The imported products and technologies into this sector was USD 4.5 billion, equivalent to 11% of total country’s import.

Nearly 40% of export from this sector are Steel products. The next most exported are cement and Iron ore.

Lack of advanced technologies forces Iran to import complex steel products. Over the last year, about 70% of import, worth $3 billion were steel-related products.

In mining and mineral industries, Iraq with 18% share of Iran’s export is the first destination, who mainly buys cement and steel.

China is the second destination for products such as iron-ore, cooper and aluminum.
