Khuzestan cannot breathe

Bloomberg nominates Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzstan province in south-western region of Iran to be among the most polluted cities in the world. Sever dust storm over this week caused the schools and offices to shut down and sent more than 1530 people to hospitals.

On Tuesday, Ayatolah Khamenei approved access to $100 million from the National Development Fund for projects like diverting water to the area and planting trees in 30,000 hectares of land.

“We can’t ignore the crisis we are facing. Maybe it will take 10 to 15 years to solve this. We are already late in starting”, quotes Bloomberg President Rouhani.
