Abrar Eqtesadi writes that by offering incentives to Indian refineries, Iran plans to increase its share of the Indian oil market. Four Indian refineries can receive their deliveries free of charge at the coast. Indian Oil, Mangalore, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum plan to purchase 396 thousand barrels of oil from Iran everyday which indicates a 100% growth compared to 2017. Prior to the sanctions, Iran was the second largest supplier of oil to India. However, at the moment Iran ranks third after Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The total supply of oil from Iran to India is expected to pass 600 thousand barrels per day in 2018.
