Iran builds new hospitals; Austrians cooperate

The CEO of Iran Housing Investment Company, Mohammadali Moghaddaszadeh, announced a €500m contract for the construction of hospitals and clinics for the Social Security Organization.

During the visit of the Iranian Trade and Economic Envoy to Austria in March 2016, agreement was reached with Vamed, a world-famous hospital constructor, for the construction of Social Security Organization hospitals in Tabriz and Shiraz.

Moghaddaszadeh announced the finalized value of the contract with the Austrian company Vamed to be €180m for the construction of a hospital in Shiraz. The construction of a specialist lung hospital with HTC and the development of Shahid Lavasani Hospital were other contracts signed after the nuclear agreement.

Based on this agreement two 320-bed hospitals will be constructed: one in Tabriz and another one in Shiraz.

Moghaddaszadeh also announced further plans for the construction of 1600 housing units for Social Security Organization workers in different provinces.

Regarding developing the hoteling of Social Security Organization hospitals, the CEO of Iran Housing Investment Company said: “Starting last year, the Iran Housing Investment Company has placed focus on improving the quality of installations, equipment, hygiene and welfare issues”.

“So far we have managed to improve the hoteling in 32 hospitals and have planned to upgrade our remaining hospitals within the first six months of the next year. The company’s strategy is to improve the hoteling of all hospitals with the same criteria and efforts have been made to provide training to hospitals in order to maintain the level of hoteling”, concluded Mr Moghaddaszadeh.
