Doctors must use POS

In a cooperation, Iranian National Tax Administration and Iran Medical Council have urged all medical offices to equip themselves to Point of Sales devices (POS) in order to provide transparency in their transactions.

Most of medical doctors in Iran refuse to use electronic payments in their offices fearing to be tracked by the Tax authorities. Now the Medical Council asks all physicians to install a POS device in their office by mid of August and link the POS to their official account. Although it is not clear yet that what may happen if the doctors continue to refuse using a POS, the authorities seem determined to equip most of the offices by the end of September to POS devices. Medical Council says that enforcing the possibility of electronic payments at offices are rather meant to provide comfort for clients than to be tracked by the authorities.
