Referring to the official statistics from the Digital Businesses of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Donyaye- Eghtesad writes that 9000 digital businesses are run based on the Telegram Messaging application where 15% of them have been destroyed as a result of the filtering on Telegram. Although Instagram, another social media, was unblocked this week, Telegram remains filtered and accessible only through Virtual Private Networks (VPN). In order to make placing an order easy and fast, several of these businesses had invested in building responsive Robots in Telegram. Creating such tools normally cost between 5 million IRR and up to 20 million IRR ($137 to $550) which are now basically useless. Beside these businesses who sell their services, several other Channels (chatting groups sometimes with millions of subscribers) could make considerable income by selling advertisements.
