Over 900 km of railway are to be completed by the end of the Iranian year, Iran newspaper reports. In addition, Iran and Afghanistanwill be connected via railway and the five provinces of Hamedan, Kermanshah, Gilan, East Azerbaijan and West Azerbaijan will also connect to the rail network. Deputy Minister of Roads, Kheyrollah Khademi aid that one of the important rail projects underway is connecting Mashhad to Chabahar via a 1500 kilometer railway with 9000 billion tomans credits. This project started 3 years ago with Indian financing yet, so far has only been 25% completed.
